I bought this set with the intention to gradually phase out all my nonstick cookware, replace some hard anodized pieces that I don't enjoy using and also to have a complete stainless steel set instead of a bunch of random pieces. Since the Cuisinart MultiClad pans arrived, I haven't touched anything else! (Well, other than my cast iron skillet and griddle--there's no substitute for those.)
I have always used stainless steel cookware, including a variety of high-end brands (just about everything but All-Clad), and many of the pans have been tri-ply pieces. This cookware blows them all away.
My first thought was to upgrade to All-Clad this time around, but I just could not justify the price. (The fact that this entire set cost the same as about 2 All-Clad pans is incredible!) After researching like crazy for weeks I settled on this set and could not be happier. My current stove is complete crap and it was always a struggle to regulate temperature, even with other expensive cookware. This set has improved cooking performance dramatically! I can regulate temp much better, despite my terrible stovetop. (I can even use the burner we refer to as the "infinity burner" because the temp just never stops rising.) I can cook eggs perfectly on these skillets with a beautiful release (for those not used to stainless, you just have to be careful the temp doesn't get too high). Water reaches a boil faster in these pans. I can only imagine how great they will be whenever we can manage to invest in a really nice gas stove.
Like another reviewer mentioned, I am lazy and put them in the dishwasher with no problem whatsoever. If anything does stick on or discolor the pan, a quick de-glazing, boiling water, or a quick scrub with Bar Keepers Friend easily does the trick and the pan looks new again.
I'm not sure what some of the other reviewers' big concerns are about stainless steel products made in China. It seems that almost all SS products are now manufactured there, including the gazillion brands of SS water bottles flooding the market so that people can supposedly avoid the chemicals present in plastic bottles.
But anyway, I don't hesitate to recommend this set to anyone. It's fantastic, especially because it's such a great buy.
